English Extension 1 gets students to study texts which are undeniably more challenging than those in English Advanced. Ever since NESA conducted a series of alterations to the English Advanced course, students have consistently expressed their disdain and confusion towards the mystery and enigma that is: Module A: Textual Conversations. Naturally, this module has an added layer of difficulty given the fact that it requires you to closely study not one but TWO prescribed texts (and oftentimes these texts are of completely different forms e.g. a film and a play).

As the old cohort of year 12s eagerly rush out of the doors, a new group enters with apprehension and hesitance (understandably so). They cautiously make their way in, unsure of the protocols, the signs, and how to operate their parachute, or exactly how they are going to navigate through the expanse of the heavens, that is, their final year of high school - its pressures, deadlines and expectations.

As the old cohort rushes to the finish line, eager for their long-awaited freedom, a new group prepare themselves for the journey that awaits. The HSC is undeniably a challenging year.
